About CIMRWA Workshops
Workshops are divided into four categories:
Publishing: Workshops in this category will focus on the many facets of the publishing industry. Topics could include query writing, agent relationships, self-publishing, etc
Career: These workshops focus on what it means to be a CIM author, marketing, creating an author brand, etc.
Craft: Craft workshops will help attendees hone their writing skills. Topics could include research, world building, character development, structure, revision techniques and processes, dialogue, etc.
Writer’s Life: These workshops will focus on the ins and outs of daily writing life. Topics could include healthy writing habits, writing-life balance, routine, time management, etc.
Career: These workshops focus on what it means to be a CIM author, marketing, creating an author brand, etc.
Craft: Craft workshops will help attendees hone their writing skills. Topics could include research, world building, character development, structure, revision techniques and processes, dialogue, etc.
Writer’s Life: These workshops will focus on the ins and outs of daily writing life. Topics could include healthy writing habits, writing-life balance, routine, time management, etc.
Propose a Workshop
The Cultural, Interracial, and Multicultural Special Interest Chapter of Romance Writers of America (CIMRWA) is accepting proposals from interested instructors and presenters for our 2018/2019 workshop schedule.
Our workshops are open to our chapter members as well as non-members and non-members of RWA. We host our workshops on Yahoo Groups and accept workshops already scheduled elsewhere during the calendar year.
At this time we are accepting proposals for workshops of all lengths including 1,2, 3 or 4 weeks of all types. Workshop fees may be a negotiated flat fee or split 50/50 between the chapter and the instructor, and are determined by the length of the workshop.
In addition to topics such as Publishing, Career, Craft, and Writer’s Life... We welcome proposals that focus on Cultural, Interracial, and Multicultural romance.

Does your idea not fit perfectly into one of these categories? That’s OK! We're open to out of the box thinking. If there's a topic you're well-versed in and you think it would be of interest to writers, please don't hesitate to contact us with your workshop idea.
